Dave's Undie Run to raise $1,000 for Heart 107.3's Give Me Five For Kids

 

 

This week Kim and Dave had Premier David Bartlett and Opposition Leader Will Hodgman in the studio to tackle the big questions....

 

  

In conjunction with the Winter Olympics in Vancouver Kim and Dave set out to prove they could handle  the cold by broadcasting their show live from the Valern Bottleshop Coldroom- Cold wasnt the word for it!

         

 

THE GNOME ADVENTURES

Katrina the Bored Housewife Gnome took an exciting and dizzing flight with Top Gun Tasmania...

         

 

Mick the celebrity Gnome has made his way to Melbourne for his first ACDC concert, he's also watched a collingwood game, had a few too many beers and had an interesting day in the garden!

     

        

 

THE GNOME KNAPPING!

Mick the celebrity gnome's adventure began very early Thursday morning when Kim & Dave removed him from his owner's garden as part of their Gnome Knapping experiment. It was on that morning that Kim & Dave gave him experiences that Mick could only have dreamed of.  He went to the beach, met some celebrities such as Dora the Explorer and Mickey Mouse, lost his gnome virginity, and finally ended up on an outing with the guys from Jim's Mowing.

 

MICK'S FIRST WEEKEND AWAY FROM HOME

He started with a Friday afternoon tour of the Holman Clinic, followed by a quick visit to the Rodmans Bowls Club in Glenorchy for a beer and a roll up with the locals. He was in for the night of his life when he got the opportunity to meet the great Nick Riewoldt and his team mates Brendan Goddard, Andrew McQualter and the new rookie Danny Archer. 

After that thrill it was time to head home to pack for a trip to Launceston for MS Fest. Arriving in Launnie he set off to Sea Port for lunch before heading to Invermay for the music festival. After that excitement, he managed to fit in a visit to Jan's house who is one of those silly magpies’ supporters. Jan made sure Mick was seen with that Eddie Everwhere fellow and friends.

Well what a glorious day the Cup was! Mick had the opportunity to have a little wager, a beer with the boys and a wine with the girls in their finery. Cheryl made Mick his own little fascinator for the day. Mick was amazed at how famous he was when so many people came and asked him if he was the gnome from the radio! He even made a new friend in Sally who is a staunch Collingwood supporter.

 

 

MICK'S TUESDAY'S OUTING

Len came and collected Mick the Celebrity Gnome and took him to work for the day.  His work involved driving cranes and construction work. He had a great day as you can see below in all of the photos!

WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON ROADTRIP

Have you ever walked around your neighborhood or driven past something every day and wondered “what the heck is going on there?”

Kim and Dave, with the help of Hobart compiled a list of places and homes that have everyone scratching their heads and then set out to find out “what the heck is going on there?”

This is how the road trip unfolded:

6.00am head to New Norfolk and stop at Willow Court …Matt wanted to know generally what the heck is going on with it. Still don’t know the answer!

 

6.30am Blair Street New Norfolk…Cheryl wanted to know what the house is bright yellow and why it has a 20 foot fence. Answer: ‘cause Wayne liked the colour.

 

6.40am Granton, Angie wanted to know about the block of land that has wood on it and surrounded by barbed wire and electric wire. Still don’t know the answer!

7.05 Centenary Crescent Claremont…Ashley wanted to know why there is a 20 foot fence around a cute weather board house. Answer: ‘cause the previous owner had big dogs.

7.15 40 Renfrew Circle …Cindy wanted to know about the house with the tin fence and 2 baths stacked on top of each other – what are your intentions with the baths? Answer: He’s building a water feature.

 

7.30 Brooker Highway – fat black fence…everyone wants to know what’s going on there. Answer: Privacy and sound insulation.

 

7.45 Newtown Valentine Street to visit the house with the statues on the front yard. Answer: to scare away the birds.

 

8.00 August Road – Rosemary wants to know why there are big purple bushes with no organisation in the front yard. Still don’t know the answer?

 

JESUS ON KIM'S IRON?

Last week Dave revealed a Massachusetts woman saw the image of Jesus Christ on the bottom of her iron! Mary Jo Coady, who recently separated from her husband and suffered economic hardship, said the image has reassured her that "life is going to be good."

This week Kim claims to have seen an image of Jesus also on her iron! What do you think? Dave thinks she’s crazy.

KIM & DAVE'S MIDLANDS HIGHWAY EXPEDITITION

The Midland Highway is shaping up as a political issue with Opposition Leader Will Hodgman pledging a 4 lane highway if elected in March. Drivers who travel the Midlands are sick of the condition of the road so in protest Kim and Dave took the Heart 107.3 Roadrunner to St Peter’s Pass clearing some of the overgrown foliage on the way. They also chatted with Infrastructure Minister Graeme Sturges who revealed details of an endangered ‘weed’… we hope Dave didn’t destroy it with his hedge trimmer!

OOPS....THERE GOES KIM'S CUP OF TEA!

This morning on the Kim & Dave show, Kim had a slight accident involving her cup of tea! Her freshly made cup of tea got knocked all over the very important panel in the Heart 107.3 Studio.  Kim & Dave conducted the rest of their show from the spare studio....check out the footage below!

KIM & DAVE'S MELBOURNE CUP TIPPING!                                                                                                             

This morning, Kim & Dave decided to come up with some unusual but dead set certain ways of tipping the 2009 Melbourne Cup.  Kim's Tipping Adventure was first.  It involved a big bucket of water, ping pong balls with the numbers 1 to 24 on them, and Kim! It was like bobbing for apples but it was bobbing for Melbourne Cup tips! In order she pulled out number 5 Mourilyan, number 4 Master O'Reilly and number 6 Roman Emperor.

Dave's Tipping adventure involved balloons with the numbers 1 to 24 inside, darts and Dave! Dave tied the blown up balloons to his body and put his life in Kim's hands when instructing her to throw the darts at him in order to get his tips. There were a couple of incidents...of course! One dart hit dave and stuck to his nipple, and one dart burst his fit ball! In order the numbers popped were number 13 Kibbutz, number 6 Roman Emperor and number 17 Spin Around.

 

According to Men's Health, 55% of women think that men lack fashion sense and the way they dress needs major help. The magazine says most men spend less than 2 minutes picking out what they're going to wear. How many minutes do you reckon Billy spent?
